Short Term Contract- Flexi-Contract

CASE STUDY ONE – The Change of Job or Cash for Car Scheme.

Sarah Johnson changed job in January 2009. Moving out of a company car scheme into a vehicle allowance. She did not want to commit to a long term finance contract for two reasons.
1. she was unsure of how much she would receive each month as a car allowance
2. moving to a new company she was cautious to committing herself to a long term contract.
“Having explained my situation to Flexible, they initially leased me an Audi for 5 months . This gave the time to see what the car allowance netted to per month and also gave me time to find my feet with the new company. After the initial period I dealy with Flexibles long term division who supplied me my new Golf and at the same time took the short term Audi away which they had kindly let me keep until my Golf arrived.It was great that there was a actually a company who advised me of my best options, to sum up in one word seemless”

CASE STUDY TWO- The Director Owner/ Cash for Car

Being a Director and part owner of his own company David was used to purchasing his and his wife’s vehicles and then selling them after about 18 months. However after one to many significant losses on the sale of a 4 x4 he looked at leasing. At the time we were operating some deal on the then new XC90 model.
“Having found Flexible in early 2004 I have had since then 9 cars from them for me and my wife. I take contracts out for between 9 and 12 months and basically have at least 2 new cars in any calendar year. I don’t have to worry about servicing issues for the hassles of trying to sell them. I have had cars rangeing from V70’S to my current car a Range Rover Sport HSE which I received a couple of weeks ago May 09. My wife is loving the experience to driving anything from a Golf to her latest vehicle which is a Saab Convertible.”

Flexible Comment: David was becoming increasingly frustrated at buying and selling his new cars. It was easy enough doing a deal on the purchase of one as each dealer would compete against each other but the time and hassles he had selling his 18 month old cars was becoming tiresome for him. After losing £16000 on a new car he wanted to settle down into a fixed motoring cost, he also enjoyed changing his car every 12 months or so. Our Flexi-Contract is the perfect scheme for David and his wife. He is so pleased with our service we also supply him all his company vans on contract hire for his fleet.


CASE STUDY 3- The Fleet Manager

Mike Smart manages his company fleet of over 120 vehicles. His company employee’s over 30 sales staff and 40 engineers. They operate in a very fast moving and high turnover staff business. Mike had used to contract hire all his vehicles for three years.
“We started to have issues when we were asking new employees to drive cars which were 2 ½ years old with upto 80000 miles on the clock. New staff were inheriting someone else mess basically. The sales team at Flexible were able to come up with a workable solution which allowed me to take 10% of my company fleet on three month short term contracts. This stopped me having cars standing for weeks and also avoided me giving a new employee a 3 year old wreck. Eight years on and we still using this same format, sometimes it may be fewer that 10% of the fleet and others if we are in between contract hire cars etc. it can be as high as 20%. “

Flexible Comment: Before winning this business Mike had the age old problem of ordering cars for staff and then either leaving or being asked to leave half way through the vehicles lifecycle. We not only facilitated a programme for the short term contracts but much to our surprise they moved away from the Contract Hire funder and we now provide of 60% of their long term contracts also.
